Frequently asked questions
Before you start
The hiding team has 20 minutes to lock the location. After that, the seeking teams get 40 minutes of search time before the hiding spot is revealed to everyone. How long it actually takes varies, but in our experience people typically use close to the full time limit set here. Allow for a short break at the venue between rounds!
A public place that serves drinks or food: A pub, bar, café or similar. It has to be open with no entry fee, no table booking and no queue, and socially fine for every team to drop in unannounced and stay there for 20 minutes (which rules out a lot of restaurants with table service). The hiding team has to sit somewhere the seeking teams can reach them.
Two or three per team is recommended. Four works, but at five we’d rather split the team to keep every player more involved
One phone with data per team is enough, but it’s worth having a spare: Everyone on the team can join the app, and everything the team does is shared between them. Turn the sound on — the app notifies you when questions and cards come in.
Each round is its own game: When you’re done, you create a new game from the front page, and a different team hides.
During the game
On foot and by public transport within the game area. Check “Movement and transport” in the rules for the details.
No. Each question can be asked once per team per round and disappears from the list afterwards.
You choose the reference point on the map shown when you ask: Your starting point, or somewhere you stood when you asked one of your own earlier questions. The answer tells you whether you’re closer to or further from the hiders now than you were there.
We use the district boundaries from before the latest district reform. Open the district map and choose the “Bydeler 2023” layer. Tip: Search for the district name in Google Maps to see its boundary quickly, but keep in mind it may show the new districts.
At least one person from the hiding team goes outside and stands somewhere visible. If that person is found, the team is found.
They lose “The Golden Veto”, and every seeking team gets one free question for every 2 minutes over the deadline (max 5). A free question has no cooldown, and the hiding team draws no card for it. The waiting screen shows the seeking teams whether the location was locked in time, and how late it was if not.
Nothing stops: The clock keeps running for everyone. There can be good reasons the hiding team takes a while, but the app will keep nagging them with an increasingly obvious timer, so answer as fast as you can. Not every rule and mechanic in this game can be enforced by the app, so we need players to play fair and honest.

Open Settings (the gear icon at the top) and tap “Copy link”. Open the link in the new browser and you’ll carry on from there. The old browser loses access, and the link works for 15 minutes.
